If you're ready for change, you've come to the right place! JLR Counseling provides mental health counseling to people in NJ!
My focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. This is achieved by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan. I value developing a trusting therapeutic relationship centered on compassion, empathy, acceptance, honesty, and genuineness. It is the quality of the relationship and level of trust between the patient and therapist that is the single biggest factor in how successful therapy will be. Some treatment approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused, Strength-Based, Attachment-Based, Person-Centered, and Culturally Sensitive.
JLR stands for Joyful Lifestyle Recovery. My mission is to assist you in recovering the joy that you once had in your life. I will work hard to help you achieve the tools needed to get your life back! I promise to be there for you every step of your journey. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life. Patient well-being is my number one priority.
My name is Jayme Rivera, MSW, LCSW. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in New Jersey. I graduated from Columbia University with my Masters in Social Work. I work with adults and adolescents with a wide variety of issues. I have worked in a juvenile detention setting, a school setting, and an outpatient mental health facility. I have also provided children and teens with in home therapy in the past. My passion and purpose in life is to help other people and I get joy when I get to witness a client transform their lives. When I am not working as a therapist, I enjoy spending time with my family/friends, traveling, reading, and learning about new things. My goal is to be able to integrate animal assisted therapy into my practice in the future. I love animals and know that animals can make a huge impact in the wellness of an individual.
